Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 Peacehaven & Telscombe

Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 Peacehaven & Telscombe

Dulwich maintained their unbeaten start in an exciting end to end encounter with their newly promoted visitors.

It was the visitors who created the first opening in the 2nd minute as Agnoly had his header saved by Phil Wilson. The next chance was created by The Hamlet as Laurent Hamici had his shot touched wide by Di Bernardo at full stretch. From the resulting corner, the keeper failed to deal with it but Ethan Pinnock couldn't turn home.

It then took a fine save from Phil Wilson to keep the home side on level terms as he produced a full length save diving to his left to keep out a sweetly struck effort from Josh Jones.

Nyren Clunis had a good chance but the visitors were always quick to break and kept the home defence fully occupied. Ashley Carew delivered a beautifully placed free kick but nobody gambled and the ball passed harmlessly across goal.

Xavier Vidal had a shot well saved and Nyren Clunis lifted the ball over the bar when well placed.

The Hamlet grabbed the lead 8 minutes from the break as good work down the left saw Marlon Patterson deliver a cross that was met with a powerful header by Laurent Hamici that produced a fantastic save by Di Bernardo. However, the ball fell kindly for the onrushing Nyren Clunis to stab home.

Three minutes later a long pass from Ashley Carew saw Laurent Hamici beat Di Bernardo on the touchline but as he turned inside his shot was blocked.

Half Time 1-0

Dulwich pressed forward at the start of the second half as Dean McDonald produced a number of moments of trickery that caused concern in the visitors defence. However, they were always a threat to The Hamlet and Agnoly was inches away from a cross.

Around the hour mark Dulwich re-established their dominance as Carew & Vidal both went close and then Hamici had a low cross spilled by the keeper but the danger was cleared before Clunis could pounce.

At the other end Phil Wilson had to time his advance from his line as James Fraser looked sure to level matters as he went clear on goal.

The second goal that would give The Hamlet breathing space arrived with 13 minutes remaining. A quick break saw Abdul Mansaray set free to run at a retreating defence and he was fouled some 30 yards out.

Ashley Carew stepped up and planted the ball over the wall and into the net with Di Bernardo unable to get close.

Phil Wilson then made another fine stop before another positive run by Mansaray saw Nigel Neita score from the edge of the box via a deflection.

Peacehaven & Telscombe pulled one goal back with the last kick of the game as El And flicked home a fine header.

Final Score 3-1
