DULWICH HAMLET 3-4 METROPOLITAN POLICE
A shadow Dulwich side came within a whisker of taking the tie to penalties having twice been three goals behind.
The visitors stronger line-up opened in the ascendancy although they had an early scare when keeper Searle dwelt on the ball and almost had his clearance charged down by Dean Lodge.
However it came as no surprise when the visitors took the lead as a cross from the Dulwich left found Tom Bird unmarked to the left of goal and his fierce shot beat Chico Ramos despite him getting both hands to the shot.
It took good keeping from Ramos to keep the visitors at bay but he could do nothing on 36 minutes as a cross found Ty Smith unmarked andhe volleyed home.
Not until almost half time did Dulwich look like scoring as Dean Lodge got on the end of a Jordan Clarke cross from the left but flicked his effort a whisker wide of the far post.
Half Time 0-2
The game seemed to have been settled five minutes into the second half as Tyrone Pink was sent through on goal and fired home emphatically.
Dulwich found a way back into the match in the 55th minute as Dean Lodge was pulled back in the box and Gerry Gonnella fired home the resulting penalty. Just 3 minutes later Pink grabbed his second as he followed up to convert from a free kick that had hit the post.
Dulwich grabbed a second goal on 63 minutes as Searle failed to hold a Jordan Clarke shot and Dean Lodge followed up to roll the ball home. This was the cue for Dulwich to exert pressure on the visitors and the lead was down to just one goal with 11 minutes remaining. Dean Lodge teased his marker and laid the ball square for Jordan Clarke to fire home from just outside the box.
With the game into stoppage time it took a fine fingertip save from Searle to secure the win as Jordan Clarke curled a fine effort that looked destined for the top corner.
