Dulwich Hamlet 4-1 Leatherhead
Three second half goals secured victory for The Hamlet in front of another crowd in excess of 1000 and saw them rise to 3rd in the table.
Dulwich opened the game brightly and came close to taking a 4th minute lead when a Luke Wanadio cross was diverted just wide of his own post by Jerry Nnamani.
Leatherhead went close in the 7th minute as Vas Karagiannis was allowed to turn on the edge of the box but fired just wide. However, the visitors were generally happy to sit deep and try to disrupt the home side's rhythm.
It was Dulwich doing all the attacking and they established the lead on 19 minutes as Michael Abnett went on a mazy run into the box before setting up Ashley Carew. His volley was on target but may have been saved except for a deflection that took it beyond Wells in the Leatherhead goal.
Dulwich pressed forward in search of a second goal, with Luke Wanadio prominent in their attacks, but despite overwhelming possession they couldn't get any clear sight of goal
It was much against the run of play when Leatherhead levelled in the 36th minute. A free kick was misjudged by Phil Wilson and Jerry Nnamani nodded the ball over the line.
Half Time 1-1
Dulwich were straight back on the attack after the break and went back in front in the 48th minute. An Ashley Carew corner was not cleared and, when the ball was returned to him, he delivered a pinpoint cross on to the head of the unmarked Jack Dixon who converted from 6 yards out.
Harry Ottaway went close in the 52nd minute as he turned on the edge of the penalty area and his shot was inches wide with Wells rooted to the spot.
Wells then just managed to claw out a Frazer Shaw cross with Ottaway waiting to pounce at the far post and a Luke Wanadio cross was almost turned into his own net by Nnamani.
Dulwich thought they had established a two goal cushion in the 63rd minute but Xavier Vidal was adjudged offside as he put the ball home after a Nyren Clunis shot had been saved.
The third goal arrived in the 78th minute almost immediately after Leatherhead could have levelled. Firstly,a poor pass from Ethan Pinnock meant he had to give away a free kick just outside the penalty area. Phil Wilson was unable to hold the resulting shot but it fell to a Dulwich player who cleared.
From the clearance the ball was played wide to the left where Albert Jarrett won a header against Ryan Mahal and sprinted along the touchline. His pinpoint cross found fellow substitute Kevin James who volleyed home goal number three.
Dulwich should have had a fourth as another counter attack saw Ashley Carew break from inside his own half and beat the onrushing Wells some 30 yards from goal. However, he then failed to get a shot on the goal when he seemed certain to score.
The fourth goal arrived in stoppage time as Terrell Forbes touched home from close range following a Jack Dixon header from another Ashley Carew corner.
