Dulwich Hamlet draw Palace in Cup Semis
Draw announced for the Capital Women's Cup
Dulwich Hamlet will face Crystal Palace Development Squad in the Semi-Finals of the Capital Women's Cup. The tie will be played at Champion Hill on Sunday 15th March at 2:00pm.
Dulwich knocked out Leyton Orient with a 1-0 win in the Quarters, thanks to Jo Gibson's goal. Meanwhile, Palace progressed by beating AFC Wimbledon 3-1 on penalties after their tie finished goalless.
Speaking after the draw, manager Ryan Dempsey said, "We’re looking forward to playing Crysyal Palace Development. They’re doing very well in their League and are currently undefeated and have recently won the National Reserve League Cup. They beat AFC Wimbledon who play in the league above us."
"It’s going to be a really difficult game, they try to play the so called right way. They’re a young squad so will be bright and energetic and have good ability within their squad, with some players training with the first team."
"We’re playing at Champion Hill which will hopefully be a big advantage. We’ve had loads of support thus far and if we can get a good crowd for this game it was be a massive help to everyone."
"We’re confident and excited at the prospect of getting into the final but we realise it’s going to be difficult game and we will try our best and work as hard as we can to do so."
Let's fill the Hill on Sunday March 15th and get behind the team, as they have a genuine chance of challenging for some silverware this season!
