Dulwich Hamlet have signed Stevenage striker Dipo Akinyemi on loan until the end of the season.

The teenage striker is highly regarded by management at Broadhall Way & has already featured in the first team for Stevenage.

The 18-year-old has made 16 appearances for Stevenage during his first season in professional football and Stevenage expect him to gain valuable experience out on loan. Akinyemi will go straight into the squad for Dulwich Hamlet’s vital Easter weekend games when they travel to Enfield Town on Saturday before a massive Monday game at Champion Hill when Tonbridge Angels are the visitors.

Originally spotted playing for Potters Bar Town Akinyemi signed for Stevenage on youth terms in early 2015 scoring six times for the Under 18s in the latter half of the season. Twice that season he was an unused substitute for the first team

After catching the eye of manager Teddy Sheringham in preseason Akinyemi signed professional terms with the Boro in the summer of 2015 and made his debut by starting in the opening league game of the season, a 0-2 defeat at home to Notts County. In his second start three days later, he played a vital role in helping Stevenage take the lead in a Football League Cup match against Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town. Boro would go on to lose the game 1-2.

Akinyemi would score his first professional goal the following weekend, with an equalising goal in a 2-2 draw at Newport County. In November Akinyemi joined Aldershot Town on a month’s loan deal. The striker scored on his debut for the Shots, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 against Lincoln at the EBB Stadium.
