
Dulwich Hamlet head for the Kent coast in FA Youth Cup
There’s a long trek ahead this evening for the Aspire Academy coached youngsters as they make their way to Margate.
The Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup sees Dulwich Hamlet take on their counterparts from Margate FC at Hartsdown Park. Like Dulwich the Margate youngsters are also members of the Kent Youth League, competing in the Under 18 Premier Division of that competition. Like Dulwich they have proved themselves prolific in front of goal this season having scored 46 goals in all competitions this season. Like Dulwich they have lost just once this campaign, that a 3-2 away defeat to Sittingbourne in their opening league encounter.
The Gate reached this stage of the completion by defeating first Little Common of the Crowborough & District Junior Football League 9-0 before recovering from conceding an early goal to overcome East Grinstead 8-2 and set up tonight’s tie.
Bromley, who beat Tooting and Mitcham United 3-2 on Monday night, await the winners in the third (and final) qualifying round for the competition proper.
This second qualifying round game takes place at Margate’s Hartsdown Park ground kicking off at 7:45pm. Admission to the game is £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.
