Dulwich Hamlet U18s 1-0 Cray Valley PM U18s
Dulwich Hamlet see off Cray Valley to reach the next round of the FA Youth Cup
A stunning first half strike from Miracle Achampong was the difference, as Dulwich Hamlet U18s defeated Cray Valley PM in the First Qualifying Round in the FA Youth Cup.
Achampong’s goal came in the 5th minute, the forward cutting in from the right wing to hit a left-footed shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Dulwich continued to play smart, attacking football in the second half and Gabriel Vallejo and Breno Carmago in particular caused Cray problems. In the dying minutes striker Leon Thomas hit the post and was unlucky not to net Dulwich’s second of the evening.
Speaking after the game, Dulwich Hamlet Under 18s manager Junior James said, “We weren’t great first half but through a moment of brilliance from Miracle, we managed to go 1-0 up. We could’ve possibly come in at 1-1. The second half was much better all over the pitch, both on and off the ball and we saw out the game well.”
Details of the Second Qualifying Round draw will be available in due course.
