Dulwich Hamlet Under 18s crash of Kent Youth League KitToFit Challenge Cup

The Aspire Academy coached Dulwich Hamlet Under 18s found the squad stretched ahead of this game with a key Football Conference Youth Alliance fixture scheduled for Dartford just over 24 hours later. This gave the opportunity to some of the Under 16s to put themselves on the radar of the management.

It was a promising start with both teams going at each other hammer and tongs in chilly conditions, Margate making the breakthrough after 20 minutes when Seb Rowland found the net. It remained that way until just before the interval when the Kent side slipped in number two.

The second half proved a case of older boys against younger boys as the visitors added two more in quick succession to increase their lead to 4-0 before Rowland took centre stage. The striker took his tally for the afternoon to 4 as he bagged three more goals in the latter stages of the contest, including a sublime overhead kick that deserved a wider audience than those huddled in the chill Catford air.
