EARLY FA COMPETITION DRAWS OUT TODAY
Though Dulwich Hamlet will have to wait a while to find their fate in the Emirates FA Cup, the FA Trophy has thrown up a surprise tie - its NOT Harrow
In the Emirates FA Cup, Dulwich Hamlet will enter the competition at the First Qualifying Round stage after their exemption to that stage of the competion was confirmed by the FA today. With only the Extra Preliminary & Preliminary Rounds drawn today Dulwich fans will have to wait to see what the old velvet bag brings them. The First Qualifying Round is scheduled to be played on Saturday 3rd September which is also Non League Day.
In the FA Trophy the expected trip to Earlsmead to face Harrow Borough was conspicuously absent from the draw. (Shome mishtake Shurely? Ed) In its place is a return to Lowestoft Town, newly returned to the Ryman Premier after relegation from National League North. That First Qualifying Round tie is pencilled in for Saturday 29th October. It will be interesting to see when the Ryman fixture computer throws up our league trip to Crown Meadow!
In the FA Youth Cup, the Dulwich Hamlet / ASPIRE Academy Under 18s face familiar opposition at the start of this season's campaign with Phoenix Sports travelling to Champion Hill in the Preliminary Round. That tie is scheduled to take place in the week commencing Monday 5th September. The winners will travel to the winners of Tonbridge Angels and Whitstable Town in the First Qualifying Round two weeks later.
