Will Easter Monday mark the resurrection of Dulwich dreams as they welcome Enfield Town to Champion Hill?

The E’s have been buzzing of late, Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bognor Regis secured by Corey Whiteley’s second half double their sixth in seven games. That victory pushed them back into the playoff places, leapfrogging Grays Athletic who were without a game at the weekend, and moved them to within a single point of Dulwich Hamlet.

It all sets up an intriguing clash but though the formbook says Enfield should be favourites Gavin Rose’s men only have to cast to a Tuesday night at the end of January when a goal from Serge Makofo separated the two teams at Donkey Lane.

At that time Enfield promotion hopes were more pipedreams with the club lying mid table but as others have stuttered the E’s have gained momentum, the kickstarter a convincing 3-0 win away to title challengers Margate secured in the last 20 minutes through goals from Whitely, Bobby Devyne and Ricky Gabriel.

Victories over Leatherhead, themselves picking up speed in the lower reaches of the league, relegation haunted Witham Town and Peacehaven & Telscombe moved them into the playoff places. Though they suffered a surprise defeat away to Lewes, back to back wins over Hampton & Richmond Borough then Bognor’s Rocks cemented their tenure of the last playoff spot.

This afternoon’s game kicks off at 3.00 pm at Champion Hill Stadium, Edgar Kail Way, East Dulwich, London SE22 8BD.

The turnstiles will be open from approximately 12.30 pm with refreshment facilities available in the ground for early arrivals.
