FA Trophy opposition now confirmed
In the balance for a while but after last night's 3-2 win for Guiseley Dulwich Hamlet will now prepare for the visit of the Lions in January.
Much as the first game between Guiseley and Burscough has swung one way then the other, so the replay between the two sides would last night. Conditions were far from ideal with a heavy pitch and fog in the air. It looked as if a shock might be on the cards when Liam Caddick gave the Burscough an early lead, but the highflyers from the Northern Premier League Division One North were soon pegged back when Gavin Rothery banged home a penalty.
An own goal gave the Lions the adavantage one that they extended before the break as Nicky Boshell scored with an acrobatic effort. However the job was far from finished and Burscough rallied in the second half. A goal from Liam Rice reduced the arrears but ultimately the fightback proved in vain as Gusieley booked their passage through to that Champion Hill date on Saturday 16th January 2016.
