FOLKESTONE INVICTA 0-2 DULWICH HAMLET
The Hamlet completed a league double over their hosts and maintained their lead at the top of the table.
This was an utterly dominant performance on a heavy pitch that stood up well to the downpour throughout the game.
The only surprise was that it took just short of an hour to establish the lead.
The first half was a constant series of Hamlet attacks with Daniel Carr unlucky to strike the woodwork twice and chances spurned at regular intervals.
With Calaum Martin taking over from the suspended Ellis Green and Ahmed Deen filling in for Luke Hickie there was a different look about the side but in Calaum Martin & particularly Nyren Clunis Dulwich were able to get down the flanks at will and with steadier finishing would have been out of sight by half time.
The second half opened with Folkestone coming more into the game and it needed a couple of smart stops from Phil Wilson to keep the scores level. However, the stream of attacks soon resumed but it took an own goal on 59 minutes to break the deadlock. A slick passing move saw the ball arrive with Kevin James whose drilled cross was turned home by an Invicta defender sliding in to clear. This caused a little confusion in the crowd as the ball went through a hole in the back of the net.
Erhun Oztumer blazed wide when it looked easier to score but, as is now customary, he got his goal on 71 minutes as he was set free in the area and fired home despite the valiant efforts of the Invicta keeper.
There were no alarms in seeing out the remainder of the game and with this result The Hamlet increased their lead at the summit to 3 points.
