After a slow start in which Dulwich had to defend a number of dangerous set plays, they put in a thoroughly professional appearance in which Amadou Tangara was rarely troubled by a side that had already scored over 100 league goals. In fact, this was the first time the home side had failed to score since October 2017.
Dulwich took 10 minutes before threatening the home side's goal, with Nyren Clunis finding space to deliver a cross that the onrushing Reise Allassani steered wide of the gaping net.
Amadou Tangara was called into action when Kieron McCann got away on the home side's left side, but the Dulwich keeper held his cross shot. This was Tangara's only genuine save in the match, although he had earlier had to rush from his line to head clear when Marc Weatherstone left his header back short.
Sanchez Ming was foiled by a great tackle from Newman as he cut in from the right, but Dulwich took the lead in the 31st minute. Reise Allassani played the ball wide to Nathan Green and when the full back crossed from the line, a defender was adjudged to have handled. Ashley Carew stepped up and confidently converted.
Two minutes later Dulwich doubled their lead. Rickie Hayles won the ball and moved into midfield area before finding Reise Allassani, whose low cross was converted by the onrushing Nyren Clunis from inside the six yard box.
If an early two goal lead was more than anybody could have hoped for, a third goal before half time made it even better. Nyren Clunis played the ball to Nathan Ferguson and then spun into space to receive Ferguson's through ball. Cutting in from the right he thundered an effort into the far corner for a third goal in five minutes.
In fact, Dulwich should have added a fourth goal in the 40th minute. Michael Chambers took a throw in and found Sanchez Ming in open space, but after advancing on goal, he poked his effort inches wide.
Invicta then looked to respond quickly but their best effort was an effort from Hasler that was too high.
Half Time 0-3
If the first half had been exciting, the second was a bit of a non event, in which Dulwich were happy to nullify the home side's efforts and ensure there would be no fight back, whilst Folkestone seemed to fear any quick attacks and so settled for their fate.
Hasler seemed the most likely source of a goal for the home side with a couple of efforts that were just too high, but The Hamlet were not being extended too much; a header from Vincent also going too high.
Dulwich were content to hold what they had, although substitute Gavin Tomlin was denied a penalty in stoppage time when he appeared to be bundled over from behind as he was on the end of a clever passing movement.
