
GAVIN PASSES 300
Our recent 3-1 victory at Harrow was Gavin Rose’s 300th match as Dulwich Hamlet’s manager.
Now in his sixth season in charge, he is our longest serving manager and the first to reach this particular milestone. Next in line are Eddie Presland (277 games in two spells), Martin Eede, Jimmy Rose and Peter Gleeson, who all passed the 250 mark.
Gavin’s first match as manager was a 0-0 draw at Folkestone Invicta on 15th August 2009 and of those 300 games, we have won 155, drawn 55, and lost 90. We have scored 554 goals and conceded 371. 232 of those have been Ryman League matches, with 122 victories, 46 draws, and 64 losses.
Our longest unbeaten sequence during his reign was 19 games (16 wins, 3 draws) in season 2012/2013, and our worst run without a victory was 9 games (5 draws, 4 defeats) in 2009/2010. Our biggest victories have been three 6-0 wins, against Fleet Town in 2010/2011, against Shoreham in 2013/2014, and at Cray Wanderers, also in 2013/2014, Our heaviest defeats were 1-6 at Leatherhead in 2009/2010 and 0-5 at Maidstone United in 2012/2013.
The players who have featured most in Gavin’s time are Nyren Clunis (225 appearances), Lewis Gonsalves (191), Kevin James (183), Peter Adeniyi (149), Kalvin Morath-Gibbs (148), Phil Wilson (147), Junior Kadi (127), Ethan Pinnock (127) and Dean Carpenter (109).
Erhun Öztümer (61 goals) scored the most goals in those 300 games, followed by Nyren Clunis (54), Kevin James (33), Frankie Sawyer (30), Daniel Carr (25), Sol Pinnock (22) and Xavier Vidal (20).
