GAVIN ROSE NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH

GAVIN ROSE NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH

Dulwich climb to top of the table in November recognised...

The Ryman League team and management awards for November sponsored by Macron were announced late last night with Dulwich Hamlet’s recent rise up the table recognised as Gavin Rose picked up the award for Division One South. Dulwich Hamlet began the month of November back in sixth place but rose through the ranks to hit top spot with victory in the rain at Three Bridges last Saturday. During November, Dulwich won thrice and drew the other in their four league outings.

Elsewhere Hastings United continue to fly the Isthmian flag proudly in the FA Cup with their 2-1 victory at Conference North side Bishop’s Stortford in the first round proper on November 3 earning them the Ryman Premier Team Performance of the Month prize. With a replay coming up after their 1-1 draw at Harrogate in the second round today yesterday afternoon, who’s to say the December Award might already be earmarked for the Pilot Field.

Soham Town Rangers took the prize in Ryman North for their 7-2 home win over Sudbury on November 17 that featured hat tricks by Buster Harradine, all from the penalty spot, and debutant Luke Stanley. Indeed the Cambridgeshire side must already be the front-runners for December honour after a stunning 8-2 victory at second-placed Heybridge yesterday.

It is unusual for a draw to be rated the Performance of the Month, but that is the case in Ryman South where Merstham were chosen for their amazing comeback at Walton Casuals on November 10. Merstham were trailing 6-1 with more than an hour gone but former Dulwich Hamlet striker Liam Wright’s hat trick gave them hope and a brace of Fabio Saraiva penalties made it 6-6 with five minutes still to play.

Margate’s experienced boss Chris Kinnear picked up the Ryman Premier Macron Manager of the Month thanks to a perfect league record. His side played three times in the league winning all three.

The Ryman North award goes to Terry Spillane of runaway leaders Maldon & Tiptree, whose side won five out of five in November. It completes a memorable year for Spillane, who on this weekend in 2011 was in charge of Redbridge as they contested an FA Cup second-round tie at Crawley.
