HAMLET BOSS BRUSHES OFF TABLE-TOPPING TALK
Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose has no desire to talk about being top of Ryman League Division One South, at least not yet.
Saturday’s 2-1 win at Three Bridges, in which Daniel Carr scored his fifth and sixth goals in two games, put Hamlet two points ahead of Maidstone at the summit, although their rivals have three games in hand.
“I am not concerned about being top of the table right now. I just want us to be consistent, stay in the mix and make sure we’re in with a chance of promotion come the end of the season. If we’re still top then, that’ll be just fine,” Rose said.
"Don't get me wrong, it's good to be where we are, but there is no-one getting carried away. This may be a good time, but don't forget the bad times. Football has a habit of kicking you where it hurts.
“Against Three Bridges we missed a lot of chances in the first half and had to come from behind. Going on the chances we created, we should have been at least three up at the break."
