But seriously, just use our match at Grays Athletic tomorrow, who groundshare at Aveley, as your 'excuse' for not suffering the last Saturday before Christmas bogged down trudging round the shops.

Aveley is surprsingly easy to get to by train, with a half-hourly sevice from Fenchurch Street to Rainham at ten & forty minutes past the hour, the journey taking a mere 23 minutes.. From there it's a simple 372 bus ride, which drops you right by the ground.

There's other permutations too, as you could get the Jubilee Line from London Bridge to West Ham, for example, & pick up the train from there.

For the return journey the trains leave Rainham at one minute past five, and 31 minutes past.

Whatever route you take, the most important thing is you come along to cheer on The Hamlet, no matter what route you take.
