Dulwich have to do it all again at Champion Hill this Tuesday (11th September)

Dulwich are in the hat for tomorrows FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round Draw, although they will need to overcome Godalming in a replay on Tuesday night. After a slow start Dulwich took control of the first half, and after a number of slick passing movements on a lively pitch the Hamlet took the lead through Dean Carpenter, after he dispossessed a Godalming defender close to half way he advanced to fire a rasping drive off the left hand post and into the net.

It appeared that The Hamlet had taken a giant step towards the next round when another fine move saw a cross from Nyren Clunis just evade Kevin James at the near post only to arrive at the onrushing Frankie Sawyer who put it into the roof of the net. Inexplicably, the assistant raised his flag for offside, apparently because Frankie had been offside much earlier in the move.

Within a few minutes Godalming grabbed an equaliser when a cross which was met by the head of Johnnie Dyer and found the back of the net.

Dulwich were distinctly second best at the start of the 2nd half and went behind when Antonio Simeone fired a free kick into the top corner of the net.

With 20 minutes left Frankie Sawyer and Ellis Green were replaced by Erhun Oztumer and Carl Wilson-Dennis and these changes saw The Hamlet gradually take control of the game again as Erhun's prompting from midfield began to test the Godalming defence. Carl Wilson-Dennis couldn't round the keeper after being slipped through but on 88 minutes he raced through again and was brought down as he rounded the keeper. Inexplicably, the keeper received only a yellow card.

Up stepped Erzan Oztumer who placed an unstoppable penalty to the keeper's left forcing a replay at Champion Hill this Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.
