Our Champion Hill groundsharers, Fisher FC, face their most important match of the season tonight....without kicking a ball!

Southern South East Counties League outfit Fisher FC are hoping to hit the back of the net at the Tooley Street headquarters of Southwark Council tonight, desperate for a positive outcome in the campaign to take them back to their Bermondsey & Rotherhithe roots, as a planning application is heard that will ensure their future prospects of thriving.

The development plans for their old Salter Road base, along with the building of a new, sustainable community stadium for them, on the old, disused St. Pauls pitch, a stones throw from there, is be be discussed by the Council planners & councillors this evening, at 7.30pm.

If all goes well then the forthcoming 2014/15 will be the final one, before they depart Champion Hill for their own home, for the first time, as a fans owned club.

Whilst everyone at Dulwich Hamlet has been grateful for their assistance while sharing with us, we wish them all the best, and hope for a grat success for them off the pitch tonight at the Town Hall.

Hopefully it will not be too many years away when Fisher rise up the pyramid to compete with Dulwich Hamlet in the higher echelons of the non-league game. The London Borough of Southwark can sustain two successful non-league clubs, with Dulwich Hamlet in the south of the borough, & Fisher in the north.
