Gr-EIGHT day for our youngsters!
The Youth Team put in a 'Barnestoneworth United'-esqe performance to win 'Eight bloody one' yesterday!
Our visitors in a mix of rainy and sunny Catford were Welling United, and they must have arrived in a confident mood, although ten points behind The Hamlet, they had four games in hand, prior to this Kent Youth League North Division clash.
But ultimately they were brushed aside by our ASPIRE Academy led Youth Team, to win by eight goals to one, the scoreline immortalised in the famous 'Ripping Yarns' comedy footballing episode, from the late Eighties!
Kameiko Pope-Campbell led the way for our boys, with a hat-trick. Kyen Nicholas bagged a brace & the others came from Tre Zialor, Joshua Fernandes and Joel Belcher.
Next Sunday we are back at Rutland Walk, when we host bottom of the table Long Lane, who will be hoping ot fare better than they did yesyerday, after they were crushed 14-0 away to Greenwich Borough!
Prior to that we have a long trip on Wednesday afternoon, when we travel down to the Sussex coast, in the Football Conference Youth Alliance Kent & South East london Division, to take on Eastbourne Borough.
