Gr-Eight show by the Youth Team!
Dulwich Hamlet Under Eighteens had the best possible start to their Kent Youth League programme this morning, hitting the back of the net eight times!
Our youngsters kept a clean sheet at the other end, as they dominated from start to finish, against a shell-shocked Orpington. The Dulwich boys were two up at the break, & had doubled the lead in the second half, before their keeper went off injured. The replacement hardly had time to put on his gloves before another was added, with the sixth soon after. More goals flowed for a final score of:
Joshua Silvero led the way with a hat trick, with a brace from Shelton Frimpong. Our other goals were scored by David Bangurah, Tyrell Glen & Tony Simpson.
After the match Junior Kadi took a moment to have a brief chat with Hamlet Pitchero & said, "It was a good performance from the younger lads. We tend to use the Kent Youth League for our first years. They acquitted themselves well. It’s nice to have a good start"
Fellow Youth Team coach Kevin James added: "They are still learning and the passing was good. It is all about organising them better; they are a couple of small steps further in their development. The result is not what we're looking at primarily, but its how they develop as individuals and as a team."
Other scores in the Under 18 North Division were:Ashford United Youth 2, Bromley 2
Fisher Youth 4, Farnborough Old Boys Guild 0
Glebe 2, Cray Wanderers 2
VCD Athletic 2 Tonbridge Angels Youth 2
Meanwhile, in the Under 16 North section our boys drew 1-1 at Bexley.
