Harrow Borough 0-2 Dulwich Hamlet

Harrow Borough 0-2 Dulwich Hamlet

Dulwich avenged their earlier home defeat to Harrow with a solid performance at Earlsmead

Line ups and match details here

With the recent upturn in form, it was no surprise to see only one change to the starting line up from Saturday's victory at home to Worthing;;Ibra Sekajja replacing Gavin Tomlin.

It was Harrow who opened the brighter as they forced 3 early corners but these were comfortably dealt with by the Dulwich defence, although from the last of them Preston Edwards was called into action to save a header.

The first threat from The Hamlet arrived in the 11th minute when a ball to the back post was volleyed across the six yard box by Ibra Sekajja but agonisingly just out of reach of both Dumebi Dumaka and Nathan Green.

Green, who was an attacking threat all night, headed wide from an Ashley Carew corner, whilst Ibra Sekajja and Dumebi Dumaka both had efforts too high,

The opening goal arrived in the 23rd minute when Kenny Beaney lofted a pass over the Harrow defence to Ibra Sekajja. He lobbed over the advancing Luke Williams in the home goal, despite the valiant efforts of 2 defenders to head off the line.

Harrow went close to an equaliser just a couple of minutes later when a Harry Newman free kick was just too high, although their attacks were sporadic. Equally, Dulwich failed to create much of note despite overwhelming possession,

Half Time 0-1

Dulwich were quick to extend their lead at the start of the second half with a fine 47th minute goal from Vas Karagiannis. Ashley Carew spread the ball wide to Nyren Clunis wide on the Dulwich right and he found Karagiannis in space. He then cut inside before beating Williams low to his right.

That was the cue for Dulwich to assume dominance of the game. Nyren Clunis delivered a low cross from the right that evaded everyone, Michael Chambers delivered a fine cross that was flicked off the head of Vas Karagiannis and Dumebi Dumaka fired wide having got away on the left.

Matt Drage flashed a header wide and Ibra Sekajja couldn't capitalise on a good opportunity. However, with the introduction of Harrow danger man Ibrahim Meite from the bench, the Dulwich defence had to be vigilant. He forced Michael Chambers into a foul on the edge of the box but the wall stood strong to block the free kick.

Nyren Clunis should have put the result beyond doubt in the 63rd minute but shot horribly wide when clean through with only the clearly injured Williams in the home goal to beat.

The Harrow keeper had evidently not been fully fit from the start as he was unable to kick properly, but he produced a brilliant reflex save low to his left to parry a Matt Drage header, Ibra Sekajja then had the ball jn the net but was adjudged offside.

Nathan Green who had marauded forward almost all of the second half, was penalised for a foul on the edge of his 9entire penalty area but again the Dulwich defence dealt comfortably with the threat,

In fact, The Hamlet almost added a third goal with the last kick of the game; Nyren Clunis delivered a cross that Daniel Carr headed against the bar with Williams well beaten,

Final Score 0-2
