Hendon 1-2 Dulwich Hamlet
Two first half Harry Ottaway goals gave Dulwich victory at Hendon much more comfortably than the scoreline suggests.
Dulwich put in a dominant first half display and established a two goal first half lead with a brace of goals from Harry Ottaway.
As early as the 5th minute a fine ball from Billy Crook found Jerome Walker who couldn't get any power into his shot and the keeper easily saved. Jerome Walker was beating his full back at will but when he did deliver a good cross there was nobody on the end of it and then Erhun Oztumer delivered from the other flank but Harry Ottaway could only head wide.
Dulwich finally took the lead that their dominance deserved as Harry Ottaway fired home from the edge of the box on 20 minutes. Ottaway then doubled the lead on 34 minutes as he scrambled home an Erhun Oztumer cross.
The second half was a more sedate affair as The Hamlet played their possession football although Harry Ottaway almost completed his hat trick on 49 minutes. It was Dulwich who looked more likely to score as Kevin James had a goal disallowed for offside whilst Ellis Green hit the post on 74 minutes.
As the game drifted towards its predictable end, Hendon were awarded a penalty for handball as a cross was volleyed straight at Dean Lodge. Jefferson Louis converted from the spot.
However that was the extent of Hendon's threat and before the final whistle Ellis Green was hauled down as he looked to be in on goal just before the referee blew for full time.
