There are draws where you feel that two points have been dropped but this was definitely one where one point was gained. A lacklustre performance in the first half meant that by half time Hendon had established a thoroughly deserved two goal lead that Dulwich rarely looked like pulling back.

Dulwich almost took a first minute lead when Sanchez Ming saw his effort deflected over the bar, but they were soon behind when Nico Muir gave Hendon a sixth minute lead. Kenny Beaney lost out in a midfield challenge and when the ball was played forward to Muir, he fired a shot on the turn that narrowed past Preston Edwards right hand and into the net.

Dulwich were definitely second best but equalised in the 14th minute. Sanchez Ming got down the right flank and then played the ball back to Nathan Ferguson. He crossed left footed and Ashley Carew arrived at the far post to head in,

However, that was as good as it got for Dulwich in the first half and they were behind again three minutes later and it was a result of more poor defending. A cross from the Dulwich left was met by the unmarked Dave Diedhou whose header gave Preston Edwards no chance.

More poor defending, as Rickie Hayles was deceived by the bounce off the pitch, lead to a further goal but Dulwich were relieved to see the Assistant raise a very late flag for offside.

Hendon seemed to be able to open up the defence at will and saw a number of efforts blocked or scrambled away. Therefore, it came as no real surprise when more poor defending lead to a third goal in the 42nd mjnute. This time Hayles left his header back to Preston Edwards short and he then brought down the Hendon player. Muir confidently tucked away the penalty.

Half Time 3-1

The start of the second half brought no more joy for the visitors and their travelling fans, although both Carew and Muhammadu Faal brought good saves from Lovelock in the home goal,.

However Hendon were very much in control and went close on a number of attempts with shots from distance but did not unduly trouble Preston Edwards, whilst the closest that Dulwich came was from an Ashley Carew free kick that Lovelock fumbled but was able to grab on the line and in front of the onrudhing attackers.

With Hendon firmly in control there seemed little chance of a comeback but Dulwich reduced the arrears with nine minutes remaining. Muhammadu Faal crossed to the far post where Does you was adjudged to have handled and Ashley Carew converted from the penalty spot.

Dulwich now sensed they could get so thing from the match and forced Hendon deeper into defence. However, they were u able to create anything of substance u til the last minute of stoppage time.

The ball reached Reisse Allassani in the box and as he looked to turn he was clearly pulled back, but the ball broke to Rickie Hayles who had been supplementing the forward line and his shot beat Lovelock high to his left; sparking wild celebrations on and off the pitch.

There was barely time to restart before the referee blew for full time and Dulwich were able to celebrate a most unlikely point.
