Hythe Town 1-0 Dulwich Hamlet
This was a smash and grab from Hythe in a game that Dulwich dominated without creating many clear cut chances.
On a windy day and with a pitch that was very wet and cutting, up a goal 9 minutes from time sealed the win for Hythe in a game in which Dulwich had the majority of possession and bookings; somehow collecting 6 cautions from the official.
The Hamlet dominated large parts of the first half but Daniel Carr just failed to turn in a right wing cross and had a back heel scrambled away from the line. They would also feel that on another day they would have been awarded a penalty when Ellis Green appeared to be brought down from behind after he had shown a clean pair of heels to the Hythe right full back.
The score remained scoreless at half time and the second half followed a similar pattern to the first as Hythe attacks were sporadic and rarely looked dangerous. However, Dulwich only created a couple of openings with Nyren Clunis firing just wide and Luke Hickie bringing a good save from the Hythe keeper.
However, 10 minutes from time a careless pass on half way eventually led to a corner being conceded and when this wasn't properly cleared the ball was returned to the far post and the ball found its way into the net.
Despite attacking substitutions and pushing forward the ball just wouldn't break for the away side and they slipped to an undeserved defeat.
