INDEPENDENT TRAVEL TO LEISTON BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT, CAR, ETC.

If you’re making your own way to Leiston this Saturday, it’s going to be quite a trek but hopefully the following may help!

From London Liverpool Street Station fans will need to a train to Billericay. These depart hourly at XX:18 with the latest departure enabling you to make kick-off leaving at 11:18. It’s a 32 journey to Billericay where a replacement bus service is laid on for another half-hour journey to Witham where the train to Ipswich will be waiting departing at xx:35. 33 minutes later and you arrive in Ipswich where you need to change for the Lowestoft train. The nearest station is Saxmundham which is about 4½ miles from Leiston itself. Bus 64 (operated by First) runs hourly to Leiston High Street at 23 minutes past the hour, returning at 1709 and 1808 from Leiston High Street. More details can be found on the SuffolkOnBoard Website

Returning to London from Saxmundham trains depart every hour at xx:57 again involving changes at Ipswich, Witham and Billericay with a total travel time back to London of 2 hours and 43 minutes. The last train departs a 9.57 pm and gets you back to Liverpool Street at a quarter to one in the morning!

Alternatively supporters may travel via Cambridge, departing xx:44 from London King's Cross, changing at Cambridge for a train to Ipswich before picking up the Lowestoft service to alight at Saxmundham. Though the train part of this journey takes just over three hours it does avoid the annoyance of a replacement bus.

By Car
The fastest recommended route is via the A12. From Junction 28 of the M25 take the A12 away from London as far as Saxmundham. In Saxmundham at a crossroads, turn right onto the B1119 towards Leiston. You will pass RAF Leiston on the left (road bends sharply). At the end of the road (just after you pass the Rowan Centre on the left) turn right onto the B1122 (Park Hill). Take the first right into Victory Road and the entrance to the ground is on the left. Alternatively, you can travel via the M11, then the A11 and A14 before picking up the A12 by Wickham Market.
