INTERNATIONAL CALL UP FOR FORMER DULWICH HAMLET FAVOURITE

INTERNATIONAL CALL UP FOR FORMER DULWICH HAMLET FAVOURITE

Congratulations from all at Champion Hill to Ethan Pinnock after he was named in the England C squad for the trip to Estonia next month.

Former Dulwich Hamlet defender Ethan Pinnock’s star continues to rise with the news that he has been called-up to Paul Fairclough’s England C squad for the International Challenge Trophy fixture against Estonia Under 23 in Tallinn on Tuesday 15th November.

Ethan graduated from the youth setup at Champion Hill under the tutelage of the ASPIRE Academy, progressing to become a mainstay at the heart of the Dulwich Hamlet defence. His development did not go unnoticed with several clubs from higher levels keeping tabs on a composed & versatile player as unflustered at centre half as he was attack minded when playing at full back, wing back or in midfield when the necessity arose. In the summer of 2016 he made the move to Forest Green Rovers of the National League where he has already become a firm favourite of the New Lawn fans. Recently Ethan scored his maiden goal for the club in a 3-0 win away to North Ferriby United as the Gloucestershire club set the pace in the race for automatic promotion to the Football League.

Ethan follows in the footsteps of former Dulwich Hamlet defender Frazer Shaw, who was called up to the England C team for their match against Republic of Ireland U21 in June 2015, playing the full 90 minutes as the Three Lions won 2-1 on rainy day in Galway.

Victory in Tallinn will secure England’s qualification from their group, having beaten Ukraine Under 20s 2-0 in Kiev in March but losing 3-4 to Slovakia’s Under 21 side at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane Stadium in June.

The match will be played at the Albert Le Coq Arena, the home of the full national team and club side FC Flora, in the Estonian capital. With a capacity of 9,692, it is Estonia’s largest stadium and will also host the 2018 UEFA Super Cup Final between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League Finals.

Prior to this fixture, a training camp will be held at the University of Warwick between Sunday 30 October and Tuesday 1 November.

The full squad is: Nick Arnold (Aldershot Town), Luke Coulson (Eastleigh), Joel Dixon (Barrow), Morgan Ferrier (Boreham Wood), Jake Gallagher (Aldershot Town), Sam Habergham (Lincoln City), James Hardy (AFC Fylde), Oliver Hawkins (Dagenham and Redbridge), Ethan Pinnock (Forest Green Rovers), Sean Raggett (Lincoln City), Matthew Robinson (Dagenham and Redbridge), Grant Smith (Boreham Wood), Elliot Whitehouse (Nuneaton Town), Jordan Williams (Barrow), Daniel Wishart (Forest Green Rovers), Alex Woodyard (Lincoln City)
