ISHMAIL KAMARA SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL WITH BEES
Barnet have signed former Dulwich Hamlet striker forward Ishmail Kamara on a two-year deal after he recently spent some time training with the club
Barnet have signed former Dulwich Hamlet striker forward Ishmail Kamara on a two-year deal after he recently spent some time training with the League Two club, struggling near the Football League trapdoor into the Conference.
The 24-year-old, who has won international honours for Sierra Leone, played a key role in Dulwich Hamlet’s ultimately unsuccessful bid for promotion from Division One South last term though a broken hand kept him out of the play offs where Dulwich succumbed in the final for a second year on the trots.
A number of clubs had been interested in the former Hamlet hitman including Northampton, Stevenage and Bournemouth. Having opted for a club possibly bound for relegation, Kamara insisted this would be the sort of challenge he would relish, citing the excellent facilities, atmosphere and attitude at the Underhill club.
In addition, it is reported by Sky Sports that Kamara’s former Dulwich Hamlet teammate Omarr Lawson could also be linking up with him in North London. After a potential move to Watford fell through, Lawson refused to sign a new contract in the summer. Teenager Lawson has also spent time training with Cardiff and Portsmouth but he is now set to link up with Barnet next week with a view to sealing a move. Should a deal be inked Dulwich Hamlet will be due compensation.
