Its a three-peat for the Dulwich Hamlet / ASPIRE Academy Under 18s

With Kladji Cani striking four times & Ade Batula weighing in with yet another goal, Dulwich Hamlet youth clinched their FCYA division for a 3rd year.

After the disappointment of Monday’s narrow defeat away to Three Bridges, it was a golden Wednesday for the ASPIRE Academy coached Dulwich Hamlet youth team as their clinched their Division of the Football Conference Youth Alliance for the third year running.

It took a while to get going with opponents Millwall (Lions) proving tough adversaries and it was not until the 43rd minute that the deadlock at Coldharbour Leisure Centre was broken. A number of chances passed the Hamlet youngsters by before at last the opening goal arrived. When it was it came in some style as Klajdi Cani latched on to a penetrating pass over the top of the defence before flicking the ball over the head of the advancing Lions goalkeeper in manner described by manager Junior Kadi as “Bergkamp-esque”! Millwall might have equalised on the stroke of halftime only to be denied by a courageous save from Ediz Hoca but once the second half began it was the Dulwich Hamlet Academians firmly in the driving seat with Ade Batula opening up a 2-0 advantage with yet another goal before Klajdi Cani went to town scoring a second half hat trick to complete his quartet of goals.

Today’s team: 1 Ediz Hoca; 2 Tarik Ibrahim; 3 Abdul Lyoubi; 4 Osman Proni; 5 De Nero Eugenia-Queua; 6 Kiki Oshilaja; 7 Cristian Bucin; 8 Dereece Thompson; 9 Klajdi Cani; 10 Kameiko Pope-Campbell; 11 Ade Batula
Sub used 12 Ricardo Soyoye

Attention now turns to the Football Conference Youth Alliance National Playoffs where Dulwich Hamlet will find themselves competing with teams from North, South, East and West including teams representing Southampton, Aldershot Town, Gateshead, Halifax Town, Guiseley, Chelmsford City, West Ham United, Brentford, Boreham Wood, Maidstone United, Dartford, Dover Athletic, Histon, Brentwood Town, Braintree, Boston United, Mansfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Havant & Waterlooville and Tooting & Mitcham United!
