KIngstonian 0-1 Dulwich Hamlet

A low key game with few moments of any quality, was won by The Hamlet with a 50th minute header from Anthony Acheampong.

Gavin Rose made eight changes from the team that started at Folkestone on Saturday and, despite a disjointed performance, a single goal from Anthony Acheampong saw The Hamlet secure another win.

This was a game with very little to commend it, played on a pitch showing signs of the toll that the season has taken on it. In fact, it was 20 minutes before there was anything of note. Connnor Hunte got away from Michael Chambers on the left and his cross was fired well over the top by Jason Williams.

Dulwich did not manage an effort until the 28th Minute when a long kick from Preston Edwards was flicked on to Dipo Akinyemi, but his volley was straight at Rob Tolfrey in the home goal.

The only other chance of the half came when KIngstonian broke quickly following a Dulwich corner, but Hunte saw his effort deflected wide.

The half time break seemed to bring The Hamlet out with a little more enthusiasm and, four minutes after the break, Michael Onovwigun sliced an attempted volley woefully wide. Just a minute later, Dulwich took the lead. A corner was forced and, from this, Anthony Acheampong met Ashley Carew's delivery with a bullet header, his second winning goal at Fetcham Grove in little over a week.

Three minutes later, Dipo Akinyemi was folied one-on-one by home keeper Rob Tolfrey who, like Preston Edwards at the other end, was rarely extended. Gavin Tomlin then missed two presentable chances before the game lost its spark again.

Any Kingstonian attacks were being snuffed out by the impressive Hamlet defence, and it wasn't until the last couple of minutes of the match that Preston Edwards was called into action, having to push out two long range efforts.
