Kit Sponsors Shirts Now Available
Sponsors of players shirts for last season can collect their shirts from the boardroom after the Leatherhead match.
Following delays with this season's kit , it was necessary for the team to play much longer than we anticipated in the shirts that were promised to last season's player sponsors.
The club would like to thank those who sponsored players and invite them to the boardroom after the Leatherhead game on New Year's Day, where you can pick up your individual shirts.
We also still have some not claimed from the sponsors of the previous season. If you are one of these people, then also pop your head round the door too.
You will have noticed that we have not run a 'kit sponsorship scheme' this season.
Mishi Morath, from the Football Club Committee explains:
" The first season I tried the idea of expanding the kit sponsorship page, where there wasn't that much take-up, & I then upped the sponsorship price, to include the shirt to be given away at the end of the season, there was a very good, and much improved support for this scheme. Unfortunately, a couple of unforseen circumstances kicked in, whereby, a number of our squad kept their shirts as souvenirs on the day we clinched the title, then there was a long delay in getting the new design kit for the following year. This caused a problem in distributing the sponsored kits, as they still had to worn by the First Team, until the new gear arrived. I persevered with the scheme last season, but there was-understandably-less interest, due to the rather shambolic distribution, for which as the organiser of the scheme, I must hold my hands up for. A similar delay occured this season, in fact even longer this season, due to internal problems with kit delivery. As I knew there would be a delay I personally decided not to run the scheme again this season. While I still believe the idea was sound, the delivery of it was not, and I did not want to go ahead with it again, due to previous late distribution of sponsored shirts.
Next season I may consider a shirt sponsorship package, back to what most other sides do, which will be a simple acknowledgement in every matchday programme, but at a lower price.
If anyone feels 'shortchanged' by the scheme over the last two seasons, I apologise. It was my idea and the buck stops with me.
I hope you will all continue to help fund our Club through donations in other ways."
