LONDON SENIOR CUP TONIGHT
As one cup dream ends another may be born as Dulwich Hamlet face Hendon at Champion Hill this evening
This evening sees Dulwich Hamlet open their London Senior Cup campaign as we welcome fellow Premier Division side, Hendon, to Champion Hill.
After Saturday’s exit from the FA Cup away to Hemel Hempstead, Gavin Rose and his team will be keen to bounce back straight away.
Our opponents come into the game with the advantage of a week’s break since their last competitive action after a blank Saturday at the weekend, their last outing seven days ago when they departed the Robert Dyas Cup after a single goal defeat away to local rivals Wealdstone.
Prior to that the Greens seemed to have rediscovered some form with a 4-0 thrashing of Bury Town away that came in the wake of a 5-0 FA Cup home humbling at the hands of Bishop’s Stortford and a brace of narrow league against fancied Kingstonian and Billericay that had stymied a steady climb away from the nether reaches of the table.
The two clubs have already clashed in league action this term with Dulwich taking all the points from a 2-1 win at Earlsmead back in August that was much more comprehensive than the final result portrayed as Jefferson Lewis goal for the “hosts” gave the score line a gloss after Harry Ottaway’s brace had Hamlet well in command before the break.
This evening’s game kicks off at 7.45 pm at Champion Hill Stadium, Edgar Kail Way, East Dulwich, London SE22 8BD. At the time of writing the pitch is reported as playable and the game should go ahead as planned barring any later changes in conditions.
Before the game why not enjoy a drink or snack in our cosy clubhouse with live sport on the big screens, conveniently situated just a short walk from the turnstiles?
