Margate 2-1 Dulwich Hamlet
Another successful season came to a close as Dulwich were beaten in the Premier Division Play Off Semi Final.
Dulwich can count themselves a little unfortunate to have lost as they dominated possession but were ruthlessly punished for errors.
Both teams were content to get a feel of the ball early in the game after a couple of weeks of inactivity.
It was Dulwich who threatened early as Frazer Shaw put in a cross that was cleared for a corner, from which Harry Ottaway headed wide.
Margate brought a fine save out of Phil Wilson as he clawed out a header, following which play switched quickly to the other end where Kevin James was inches away from a cross.
The game then settled down as both sides probed for openings but without finding any until just past the half-hour. Albert Jarrett received a pass from the right and unleashed a shot that beat Bull in the Gate goal but struck the inside of the post, rolled along the line and struck the other post before being hacked behind.
Margate had created very little but grabbed the lead with four minutes of the half remaining as a diagonal ball from the Dulwich right seemed to deceive Phil Wilson and Ryan Moss headed into the goal.
Half Time 1-0
The second half saw Dulwich in almost total control as they pushed the ho e side back. Six minutes into the half Nyren Clunis cut in from the left and unleashed a shot that was heading for the top corner before Bull produced a magnificent save to touch it over the bar.
Albert Jarrett curled a free kick just wide as the Margate goal came under a period of sustained pressure that culminated in a 68th minute equaliser.
This time Clunis outpaced his marker, cut inside and placed a precise shot out of the reach of Bull and into the bottom corner of his goal.
This seemed to spring Margate back to life, with Phil Wilson called into action to parry a shot that the alert Matt Drage cleared from inside the six yard box.
Much against the run of play Margate grabbed what turned out to be the winner with 13 minutes remaining. Xavier Vidal was caught in possession 15yards inside the Margate half. The ball was quickly transferred forward to the Margate right and the cross was headed home by Lewis Taylor.
Dulwich pushed forward in search of another equaliser but the closest they came was another Clunis effort that was just too high and a header from Ethan Pinnock that was held by Bull.
