Dulwich Hamlet are pleased to announce the signing of experienced defender Marvin McCoy

McCoy was at Aldershot Town last season in the National League and has signed for Dulwich after training with the club this summer.

Having come through the academy at Watford, McCoy made his name at Wealdstone and played two seasons in the Isthmian Premier. He was named the club’s Player of the Year in 2010 and earned a move to Wycombe Wanderers in League Two that summer. In his four years at Wycombe he made over 100 appearances.

McCoy then spent two more years in the Football League at York City, adding another 50 appearances while at Bootham Crescent, before dropping down to the National League South where he helped Ebbsfleet United to promotion through the Playoffs in 2016/17. Following one more season there, he joined Aldershot last year.

The defender also brings International experience with him to Champion Hill. McCoy has 8 caps for the Antigua & Barbuda national team, playing against the likes of the USA and Jamaica.

“Marvin is a good addition to our squad. He brings a wealth of experience and is able to play at both centre half & right back,” said manager Gavin Rose. “He has spent the past few weeks with us, keeping his fitness up whilst we got the opportunity to get a deal agreed.”
