MATCH PREVIEW: Chippenham Town (H) Saturday 14th August
The Hamlet will begin a competitive fixture in front of supporters at Champion Hill for the first time in almost eight months.
This Saturday afternoon marks the return of the Vanarama National League South season, and with full capacity crowds in attendance for the first time since March 2020 it’s sure to be a special atmosphere with The Rabble in full force.
Dulwich will open their 2021/22 campaign with a visit from Wiltshire-based Chippenham Town. The Bluebirds sat 16th in the table last term before it was ultimately abandoned due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mike Cook’s men did manage to visit Champion Hill prior to the curtailment as one of 14 league fixtures completed by his side. Chris Zebroski, who has since departed the club, and current Weymouth forward Bradley Ash scored in either half to hand Town a 2-0 victory.
The Bluebirds have made four summer signings so far, with most recent of those, being the attacking pair of Dan Griffiths and Alefe Santos. Griffiths was formerly on the books of both Liverpool and Cardiff City, whilst Santos, who began his career at Stoke City, joined from league rivals Weymouth.
The Hamlet have a strong record against their opponents with three wins and three draws, whilst their sole defeat came in their last meeting.
New summer recruit Jazzi Barnum-Bobb will be in line to make his competitive debut and should be full of confidence following the defender netting in the both the final two games of pre-season. Other acquisitions, Jack Holland, Chike Kandi, and Tyrone Sterling will also all be hoping to make their competitive debut for the club.
