MATCH PREVIEW | Dulwich Hamlet vs Whitstable Town | FA Cup | 30/08/25
The Hamlet's 100th FA Cup campaign begins on Saturday afternoon as Whitstable Town visit Champion Hill.
Mark Dacey's side come into this one in electric form having picked up 4 wins from 5. They suffered their 1st defeat of the season on Bank Holiday Monday in Brighton as Whitehawk secured all 3 points.
The Hamlet exited this competition at this stage last year. A 1-1 draw with old rivals Leatherhead at Champion Hill meant a replay was needed at Fetcham Grove with the step 4 side securing their passage into the 2nd Qualifying Round with a 1-0 victory.
The Hamlet come into this cup tie having scored 9 and conceded just 1 in 5 games so far this season.
The visitors to Champion Hill had a season to remember last time out. Losing out in the SCEFL Premier division play-off semi-final was overshadowed as the Oysters headed to Wembley for the FA Vase final. They came from behind to defeat AFC Whyteleafe 2-1. The Leafe side that day featured current Hamlet player Gaspar Mico and was coached by our current assistant manager Jr James.
They've already played 2 games of this season's FA Cup. In the Extra Preliminary round they defeated Lingfield 7-2. In the Preliminary round they swept Edgeware & Kingsbury aside with ease putting 9 past them.
SQUAD NEWS:
Jordan Wynter and Anthony Jeffrey have had their recovery times pushed back from knocks they picked up in pre season. The duo should hopefully return next weekend when we host Welling United at Champion Hill.
