The Hamlet begin 2026 slightly later than planned with a trip to Potters Bar Town on Saturday afternoon.

Following our postponement against Whitehawk last weekend our 2026 begins with a trip to strugglers Potters Bar Town. It was an away win over Potters Bar in March last year that put the Hamlet within touching distance of safety.

It's been a difficult season so far for the Bar who find themselves in a relegation dog fight 10 points from safety with a mountain to climb if they are to maintain step 3 status.

Last time out though they were victorious over Cheshunt with a comfortable 3-1 victory over their rivals. Before that they'd lost 3 on the bounce all to sides in the play-off picture.

Similar to the Hamlet this will be their first game of the New Year after their fixture away to St Albans City was postponed last weekend.

The Hamlet finished 2027 with a strong point against Carshalton Athletic. Amadou Kassarate continued his fine goalscoring form as he headed home just before half-time.

It rounded off a successful first half for Mark Dacey and his side with the Hamlet within touching distance of the play-offs and sat inside the top 10.

A win on Saturday could see the Hamlet rise above Chichester City and within 7 points of the play-offs.

SQUAD NEWS: 

A fully fit Hamlet side will head to Hertfordshire on Saturday. Only Anthony Cook will be unavailable as he finishes his 3 match ban after the red card he received against Lewes before Christmas.
