The Hamlet returned to Champion Hill with a 2-1 win over Millwall U21s as Lonit Talla and Gaspar Mico make on the scoresheet for back-to-back pre-season wins. 

Just as he did last weekend away in Jersey, Lonit Talla bagged an early goal. The ball fell kindly to him inside the box and before Millwall’s defence had noticed, he tucked it calmy into the bottom left for 1-0. 

Tom Chambers thought he’d made it two when the Dulwich left-back found himself in on goal thanks to Talla’s brilliant trickery and through ball. Chambers slotted it home only for the linesman’s flag to be raised and rule it out. 

There was little to separate the two sides for most of the game. Neither were able to build any real goalscoring chances, particularly Millwall who were constantly denied by a solid first half wall of Sean Bonnett-Johnson, Kyron McKay, Michael Chambers and Tom Chambers. 

Danny Mills, Amadou Kassarate and Ogo Obi came on at the break, as well as Gaspar Mico who would go on to net Dulwich’s second and final goal of the day. Keidi Xhika got the assist for Mico’s top left corner thunderbolt from the edge of the Millwall box. 

Hamlet’s trialist goalkeeper made a spectacular triple save as the Lions sent numbers forward in the hope of getting anything out of the game. His first stopped a 1-on-1, then he dived low and fast to his side for another before saving a third with his foot.

Millwall’s one and only goal came in bizarre fashion. Their trialling left winger cut inside for a cross which rebounded rapidly off Kassarate to best the keeper and Ayman Sheikh tapped it over the line. 

Though not as clinical as the 5-1 victory over Jersey Bulls, Hamlet have two wins from two pre-season games with Horsham, Tonbridge Angels, Dorking and QPR U21s to come.
