Two defeats in a week! Here's what the press had to say

On Sunday the 'Non League Paper' covered our defeat at home to Staines Town last Saturday:

Dulwich surrendered top spot with a below-par-performance as Staines deservedly took maximum points thanks to two goals from Pat cox.
Cox who fired the Swans ahead from a 16th-minute penalty after former Hamlet winger Luke Wandadio was felled in the box.
Dulwich were then awarded a spot-kick themselves for a foul on Nyren Clunis, but Ashley Carew placed his shot wide.
Staines were only denied a convincing half-time lead by smart saves by Phil Wilson from Erivaldo Felix & Cox.
But on the stroke of half-time defender Ethan Pinnock equalised for Dulwich with a well-directed drive from the left side of the box.
The goal seemed to lift Hamlet and after the interval they peppered the Staines goal. However, Swans keeper Jack Turner proved unbeatable, blocking efforts from Clunis, Danny Waldren, Albert Jarrett and Carew.
And Staines regained the lead on 56 minutes when Ashley Lodge pulled the ball back for Cox to drive low past Wilson from 18 yards.
The nearest Hamlet came to an equaliser was when Turner made a great reflex save from Charlie Penny.

On Tuesday the midweek copy of the 'South London Press' concentrated on the same game, in their Non League column:

Cox double strike Staines Dulwich's record

Dulwich Hamlet suffered their first defeat of the season when Staines Town left Champion Hill on Saturday with a 2-1 victory in the Ryman League Premier Division.
A bumper crowd of more than 1,000 saw former Dulwich winger Luke Wanadio return to haunt his old club as he drew a foul in the box on the quarter-hour mark, allowing Pat Cox to give the visitors the lead from the spot.
A penalty was awarded at the other end soon after when Calum Willock had his shirt pulled, but Ashley Carew failed to level when he scuffed wide.
Ethan Pinnock was the unlikely source of an equaliser on the strike of half-time, but Cox scored again 11 minutes into the second half when his effort slipped under Dulwich keeper Phil Wilson against the run of play.
Charlie Penny and Dean Lodge had chances blocked by a visiting defender in quick succession as the South Londoners sought another leveller, but the visitors stood firm to claim all three points.
Gavin Rose's side slipped to seventh in the table and visit Leatherhead tonight.

Yesterday the weekly 'Southwark News' headlined with the news of our entry into this season's FA Cup:

Hampton FA Cup draw for Hamlet

Dulwich Hamlet will kick off their FA Cup journey with an away game against Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday September 12.
The Pink and Blues could have drawn a more unfamiliar foe but instead their first obstacle will be a fellow Ryman Premier League club.
Last Saturday Dulwich tasted defeat for the first time this season, when they lost 2-1 to Staines Town at Champion Hill.
Pat Cox opened the scoring for the visitors on 16 minutes when he converted a spot kick, however minutes later Ashley Carew had his own chance to level with a penalty only to spurn the golden chance.
But parity was restoed just before the break when Ethan Pinnock stepped up to score for Dulwich. Dulwich were better after the restart but it was Cox who scored the decisive goal, on 56 minutes which enabled the visitors to grab all three points.
This weekend Dulwich are at home again when Grays Athletic come to southwark, a game that gets underway at 3pm.
On Bank Holiday Monday Hamlet are on their travels when they take on Kingstonian, another game that has an afternoon start of 3pm.
Hamlet were also in action last night, a game that finished after the News went to press, against Leatherhead.

And, the last of this week's news, came this morning, from the weekend edition of the 'South London Press':

Hamlet boss Rose wants improvement in decision-making

Dulwich manager Gavin Rose bemoaned his side's decision-making in the wake of their 1-0 loss against Leatherhead.
Hamlet conceded the only goal of the match when Louie Wells took advantage of some sloppy defending at a Leatherhead free-kick to fire home from close range.
The visitors pressed for an equaliser but ultimately couldn't break down a stubborn Tanners defence.
Rose said: "Both teams showed a lot of energy, but I felt we gave a bad goal away. Kristian Campbell shouldn't really have dived in to concede the free-kick and the marking was pretty poor. I know a few of us were disappointed there wasn't an offside there as well but these things happen. I don't think we made very good passing decisions either. When we were in the last third, we often rushed our shots, and could have passed it to a player in a better position to score. The forwards didn't really get the type of service they have come to expect. We did well in our approach play but once we get there we made the wrong decisions, which ultimately cost us."
The result leaves Dulwich Hamlet eighth in the Ryman Premier League, and they host second-placed Grays Athletic tomorrow.
