Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...

The regular football season may be at a close, but you can still play, or cheer on the Supporters Team next Saturday at Worthing.

Our Supporters' Team, who affectionately nickname themselves 'The Rabblers', return to good old Sussex By the Sea to once again take part in the Worthing six-a-side tournament, staged on the hallowed turf of their Woodside Road stadium.

One of the 'downsides' of returning to the Premier Division in 2013 was that we have to leave behind somne good friends, such as Worthing, so it's great to keep in touch with them on day like next Saturday, the 17th of May.

All fun starts at 10.00am, and the ground is only a few minutes walk from Worthing train station.

If you would like to play, even if you've not turned out for the Supporters' Team before, then just give the co-manager Shaun Dooley a bell, or drop him a test, on 07931276118 & he will tell you all the info you need to know to play.

The Worthing tournament is a great day out, & it's so much more than just a kickabout on the pitch.

There's a pre-tourney breakfast on the go, for early arrivals, no need to go hungry, or worry about finding a decent local greasy spoon! And the regular tea bar will be open all day too. And if souvenirs & programmes are your thing they wil leven open the club shop for you.The bar will naturally be open, and they are ordering in guest barrels of real ale, at only £3 a pint.

After the football is done and dusted, you can relax in their bar, to watch the FA Cup Final on the box, watch the tournament presentatations, and then join in their not-too-serious quiz night, before heading back home on one of the later trains!

You don't have to stay at the ground al lday if you're not playing, so you can pop in and out, and have a nice day out at the seaside, as you see fit.

They are also encouraging fans to bring down flags to hang across the front of their stand, and we know our fans like a 'challenge'!

The tournament format is two groups of eight, with four from each qualifying for the knock out quarter-finals.

'The Rabblers' have been placed in group B with Worthing B, Gillingham A, Solent Stars, AS Roma, Worthing Herald, Crawley Town and our very good friends from Altona 93.

Group A consists of: Worthing A, Gillingham B, Leyton Orientear, Worthing FC Staff, Whitehawk, Romania, Horsham and Oxford United.

No excuses...see you on the coast next week!
