Osaghae Leaves The Hamlet
Goalkeeper departs by mutual consent.
The club can today confirm the departure of goalkeeper Joe Osaghae from Champion Hill.
The 21-year-old was signed by Gavin Rose during the summer as competition for Charlie Grainger, having come through the academy at Charlton Athletic.
After featuring heavily in pre-season, Joe had to wait until our fifth game of the season to make his competitive debut, stepping in for Grainger when he picked up an injury in the warm-up away to Eastbourne Borough, with the side losing 2-1 late on. Osaghae then played in each of the next three fixtures against Welling United, Tonbridge Angels and Hemel Hempstead Town.
The final of his five appearances came in Paul Barnes's second game in charge in the London Senior Cup win against Athletic Newham in September, having to settle for a place on the bench in the subsequent eight match day squads.
Understandably, Joe wishes to play more matches, and with game time limited over the past couple of months, he and the manager have decided to end his contract by mutual consent so he can be released.
All the best for the future Joe, thank you for your professionalism and performances during your time here.
