Peacehaven & Telscombe 0-1 Dulwich Hamlet

A second half goal from Ashley Carew gave Dulwich victory and a league double over their opponents.

Dulwich opened brightly and as early as the third minute an Ashley Carew free kick tested Di Bernardo in the home goal.

After Peacehaven had gone close with a 7th minute cross shot, Kevin James was dispossessed and Phil Wilson had to help the shot over before Nyren Clunis ran from his own half but Omar Koroma was unable to get a shot away from his cross.

Ashley Carew rolled a 13th minute shot just wide after cutting in from the left and Nyren Clunis shot wide after good work from Kevin James.

Dulwich came very close just before the half hour but Ashley Carew's free kick beat Di Bernardo but it struck the bar. Jack Dixon's follow up was blocked before Ethan Pinnock fired over.

The home side were struggling to create chances but they nearly took the lead four minutes from half time as a free kick was lifted over the wall and, with Phil Wilson beaten, struck the post.

Kershaney Samuels suffered a serious injury soon after half time and had to be taken off on a stretcher. When play resumed after a long delay it was Dulwich who continued to be on top with Peacehaven unable to really test Phil Wilson with shots on goal, although he had to deal with a number of dangerous crosses.

There were few clear chances at either end before Dulwich took a 68th minute lead through Ashley Carew. Good work saw the ball find Frazer Shaw, who was an attacking threat throughout, on the left and his lowcross was swept home first time from 15 yards by the left foot of Ashley Carew.

Xavier Vidal had a chance to put the result beyond doubt but was foiled one on one by Di Bernardo and Harry Ottaway was dispossessed as he tried to cut inside when he had been sent clear.

However, there were no alarms for The Hamlet through over 8 minutes of stoppage time as they recorded another win that leaves them undefeated in 7 league games.
