Our new charity partners for 2016/17- "FOOTBALL BEYOND BORDERS" will be looking for your support tomorrow night
Many of our fans will know of the great work that 'Football Beyond Borders' do all over South London and beyond...and tomorrow night they will be our guests at our final home prestige pre-season with professional neighbours Crystal Palace.
It's the start of an official link-up with them that will continue for the whole of our upcoming Ryman League Premier Division campaign, but we have had the pleasure of working alongside them several times in the past.
Last season, when we hosted Merstham back in October, many of the youngsters they work with came along to watch the match for free, as part of our on-going community initiatives programme.
Prior to that they have interviewed our players and fans alike, for their legendary FBB-TV clips, which you can view on You Tube, with this Dulwich Hamlet related one HERE
Some of you may wonder what benefits come from Dulwich Hamlet linking up with FBB. Well we could tell you, but why take our word for it? Here's a tiny example of why we are working alongside them, here at Champion Hill, following that Merstham match here's the what the effect of something as simple as watching Dulwich Hamlet has on the youngsters they work with...
One young lad, Ashley, thought it was nice of Football Beyond Borders, and Mr. Bateman, at teacher at Archbishop Lanfranc School, to allow him to go, as he wasn't meant to! He went to the school for Mr. Bateman to take his brother Jake to the game , but was then told he could come along too. He thought it was really great that Football Beyond Borders were given tickets by Dulwich Hamlet for pupils like him to be able to get to a real game. He told FBB that "This is exciting, this is my first game, I've never seen players in real life". Whilst his brother Jake told FBB before kick-off how excited he was to be able to watch a game with his brother, thanks to Football Beyond Borders.
That's what FBB does...it reaches out to the youngsters of South London & you can help them continue their work, if you have any losse change, but puting a coin or two in their buckets tomorrow.
If you want to find out more about their work then just look at their website, linked earlier in this article, or speak to any of their vounteers with the buckets.
