The Hamlet welcome the Sports to Champion Hill tomorrow evening for a third consecutive home fixture in just seven days.
After a first win in four- the Hamlet's longest drought this season- Gavin Rose's men look to kickstart a run in a bid to close the gap on the top four when they welcome Eastbourne Borough to the Hill on Tuesday night.
Upon watching Saturday's display against Concord Rangers, with yet another sold out crowd in attendance, the Hamlet faithful would have witnessed little evidence that Dulwich were in a bit of a sticky patch as of late. As their display, in the main, oozed confidence and class. The first half performance, in particular, exemplified why Rose's are well in the play-off mix, with goals from Gio McGregor and Danny Mills helping the hosts cruise to a healthy 2-0 lead. Danny Green's spot-kick on 67 minutes did create a bit of anxiety inside the ground, however. And it wasn't until returning 16/17 semi-final playoff hero Ibra Sekajja came on for his third spell at the club to turn tension into triumph. His composed brace in additional time sealed a well deserved, but more importantly, much needed three points to send the Hamlet into sixth spot.
The Sports come to SE22 on the back of a 2-1 defeat away at Bath after an Alex Fletcher double sealed the victory for the Somerset side. Prior to that defeat Danny Bloor's team had won two games on the spin, with impressive victories over both Hungerford Town and Oxford City- both of whom currently occupy play-off spots. Saturday's loss leaves the East Sussex outfit lying in 11th position, five points off the Hamlet.
The pair have matched up once already this season, back in September, when a 86th minute Greg Luer goal meant the points would be shared in a 2-2 stalemate at Priory Lane. Chris Whelpdale had opened the scoring for the hosts, before a freak own goal from Sports keeper, Curtis Anderson gifted the Hamlet an equaliser. Darren McQueen then put the visitors in front until Luer's late long range strike off the post claimed a point in an entertaining encounter on the south coast. Dulwich last welcomed Eastbourne to Champion Hill back in December 2020, when Mills and Reise Allassani were on hand to give the Hamlet a 2-1 victory behind closed doors.
