Dulwich got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory over a surprisingly lacklustre Worthing side coming off the back of double victories.

Kevin James slipped a slack offside trap to open the scoring midway through a first half where Hamlet constantly held the whip hand. Left one on one with ‘keeper Alan Mansfield after a neat ball behind a leaden footed defence James made light work of dispatching his opportunity to send the Hamlet in ahead at the break.

Dulwich might well have added to that advantage when Ellis Green was sent tumbling in the box, the usual terrace apoplexy at such injustice replaced by bemused looks all round. However, Worthing never took advantage to produce a cogent threat of their own, the closest a Rebel player came to finding the net a Nyren Clunis cross turned against his own upright by a red shirted defender.

The introduction of Frankie Sawyer on the hour mark added new impetus to Hamlet’s menace with a second goal arriving just over ten minutes later. Escaping down the right, Clunis teased and tormented his opponent before lashing the ball across the face, the cross bisecting ‘keeper and centre-half to reach James leaping at the back stick to side foot home.

As the game wore on, a dead-beat Worthing found themselves chasing shadows, too often reduced to crude challenges to halt the Dulwich raids as a sprinkling of yellow cards added to the misery. However, it was another late, lazy challenge that helped cement the three points for Dulwich. Dashing into the area, substitute Kershaney Samuels was set tumbling up by as lunging tackle across the shins. The poisoned chalice of spot kick dispatched this time passed to Sawyer who purposeful strike, high and away from Mansfield proved the killer goal.
