REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet 1 - 1 Cray Wanderers | 11/10/25

One position separates these teams before kick off with Dulwich 3 points behind in 5th place with a game in hand therefore, a favourable scoreline would result in Dulwich progressing up the table closing the gap to league leaders Brentwood Town.

After an even first ten minutes The Hamlet started applying pressure onto their opponents which resulted in an early lead.

Some great link up play on the right-hand side between Dulwich’s Sol Baugh who got the assist and the skipper Nyren Clunis who got his first goal back at Champion Hill.

Dulwich continued their momentum after the first goal and kept Cray Wanderers pinned into their half having most of the possession and chances.

Towards the end of the first half Cray Wanderers applied more pressure onto the home team and in quick succession got their first shot on target followed up by a goal a few minutes later from their number nine Alex Hernandez.

Going into half time both teams have a goal a piece however Dulwich will have been disappointed with conceding so late into the half and being the better team for most of it.

After the start of the second half The Wanderers seem to have found a bit more confidence with their halftime substitution, Quade Taylor who was close to assisting an early chance.

However, the Hamlet fought back well after a massive sliding tackle on the penalty spot from Dulwich's Joseph Adewunmi preventing a great goal scoring opportunity for the Wanderers.

Minutes later this was followed up by an attempt on goal by danger man Nyren Clunis. Dulwich continued to press on and in the 70th minute and came very close to a second goal, after a sequnce of chances in quick succession resulted in Sol Baugh hitting the woodwork.

A series of substitutions for both teams continued the battle fiercely into the final 15 minutes, leading to a very late challenge from Dulwich’s Kassarate on one of the Cray’s defenders, to which Captain Tom Bonner received poorly and was issued his second yellow for dissent in 85th minute, a bit late for Dulwich to capitalise on. Final score 1 -1.

As Mark Dacey says, "it was a tale of two halves and moving forward Dulwich are going to have to be ready and on it ahead of this busy Winter period’. Folkestone next week is an opportunity to push up the table and ‘the support of The Hamlet fans will be as important as ever".
