Saturday: Dulwich Hamlet vs St Albans City
Dulwich Hamlet face St Albans City at Champion Hill at 3pm this Saturday
After back-to-back wins in their first two games of the new National League South season, Dulwich Hamlet are looking for another three points on Saturday against St Albans City.
Dulwich overcame an early red for Quade Taylor last weekend away at Tonbridge Angels, winning 2-1 after the home side also had a man sent off. Captain David Ijaha and Jeffrey Monakana scored their first goals for the clubs, with Nyren Clunis and Danny Mills also looking dangerous for the Hamlet going forward.
With Ijaha forced to sit out Tuesday night’s clash with Wealdstone due to illness, Dulwich were faced with another tough contest. However, Richard Orlu’s first half goal was enough to seal the three points, as the Hamlet held on for the 1-0 win at Champion Hill.
St Albans City have drawn both of their games so far this season, a 0-0 with Chippenham Town on opening day and a 1-1 with Dartford on Tuesday. In our home fixture with them last season - played at Tooting & Mitcham - we won 1-0, with Nyren Clunis scoring the only goal of the game. Former Dulwich midfielder Rhys Murrell-Williamson rejoined St Albans during the summer and may feature on Saturday.
With a crowd of 1,484 present for the Wealdstone game, we are expecting another big gate for Saturday’s fixture against St Albans. We would encourage supporters to buy tickets online in advance or arrive at the ground early to avoid queuing. The bar will be open from 12pm.
