Saturday: Tonbridge Angels vs Dulwich Hamlet
Dulwich kick off their Vanarama National League South campaign with a visit to newly-promoted Tonbridge Angels
Dulwich begin the 2019/20 season away to familiar opposition and will play Tonbridge Angels this Saturday at 3pm.
The two sides faced each other in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round at Imperial Fields last season, with Dulwich the 3-1 winners that day over a dogged Tonbridge side.
Gavin Rose is expecting another difficult game for Dulwich on Saturday. “We’ve always found it hard down there to be honest with you,” he said.
“They’re managed by former teammates of myself and Junior, Steve [McKimm] and Barry [Moore]. We know them well and they know us well. There won’t be many surprises in how we both approach the game because we’ve faced each other over the years, so we know it will be difficult.”
“Tactically they’ll be good, they’ll have a bit of resolve about them. It’s their first game in the league, as it was this ours this time last year, so it will mean a lot to them as well.
“But for us our main focus is to be compact and to not give anything silly away, to grow into the game and see if we can get a positive result.”
