Six shooters Dulwich crack Oystermen in FA Youth Cup

The Aspire Academy coached Dulwich Hamlet under 18s make it through to the Second Qualifying round after hitting their opponents for six tonight.

The under 18s maintained their 100% start to the season as they swept past Whitstable Town in style. It took 25 minutes for the visitors resistance to crack when they defence was breached twice in three minutes as Diallang Jaiyesimi then Reece Johnson found the net in quick succession.

Whitstable held out until the break but found themselves battered by a Pink and Blue tsunami. Ade Batula was unlucky not to make it three nil in the first moments of the second half, running on to a slide rule pass only for his cross shot to rebound back out off the upright. However on 47 minutes the same player made no mistake with a sweet finish. Moments later Dulwich had a penalty after an ungainly challenge on Jaiyesimi. Skipper Osman Proni stepped but his spotkick was expertly saved low down at his left-hand post by 'keeper Ryan Birch.

On 52 minutes Proni had his revenge as Birch failed to claim a difficult cross, Proni bundling the ball him despite the goalie's best efforts to redeem himself. On 79 minutes Proni claimed his second hitting an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area, always rising away from the reach of Birch as the net welcomed the ball into its embrace.

Not to be outdone by his captain Johnson claimed his second with arguably the best goal of a evening of quality scoring. Proni, ever the architect, whipped in a teasing cross from tight to the right byline. Birch tried to claw the delivery away but it fell at the feet of Johnson. Facing away from goal the striker swivelled and smacked a steamhammer shot home from 10 yards to seal the victory.

Dulwich must now wait until tomorrow (Thursday) evening to find who they will travel to the next round - Margate or East Grinstead.
