Snappy Snaps in the picture!
Today we are pleased to launch the inaugural Snappy Snaps Dulwich Hamlet Photography competition
The idea came about almost by accident after Dulwich Hamlet Committee member Mishi Morath began sharing some old photos of his on his Facebook page, and the Dulwich Hamlet Chief Executive Martin Eede suggested some could be put up in the bar.
This put an idea into Mishi's head, as he explains:
"I shared some old stuff, just for my own amusement, and knew some others might enjoy them. But they're very average, and certainly not of good enough quality to hang anywhere! It got me thinking though...why not ask our fans to take some pictures and we could display the best ones in the bar..."
And so came about the first ever...
Snappy Snaps Dulwich Hamlet Photography CompetitionWe are pleased to announce that we have on board, as competition sponsors the big photography High Street chain SNAPPY SNAPS and their brand will appear at the head of the competition, in conjunction with their local branch at Camberwell Green.
The only theme for the competition will be 'Dulwich Hamlet'...and it can be as literal or loose as you like.
Match action...or a crowd scene.
Part of the ground, or on the way to a match.
A holiday snap with a scarf...
In fact anything you like, feel free to 'think outside the box' as if a long-distance Ashley Carew free-kick!
There shall be four distinct types of entrants.
An Open Age section, for adults.
Another for all youngsters under the age of twelve, in a primary school category.
The next is for 'Teenagers'.; covering the age group of 13 to 19 years-old.
With the final one being specifically for 'photography students', which is aimed at both students at college, studying photography, or fans who wish to enter as members of photography clubs, or semi-professional sports photographers.
There is no limit to the amount of entries which you choose to submit, and entry is FREE OF CHARGE. Once entries are submitted we may reserve the right to share them on the official Dulwich Hamlet website; as well as official Facebook and Twitter feeds. For all other use the images remain the copyright of the holder- ie: the person who took the image.
Entries should be submitted, via email, to:
and the closing date for submissions will be TUESDAY 31st MAY 2016 & entries may be shared on our social media prior to that.
You will, by now, be wondering: 'What do I win?'
Simple, we will be choosing a 'First', 'Second' & 'Third' in each of the four categories. Which will make twelve chosen pictures in all. They will be printed and framed by our competition sponsors SNAPPY SNAPS & unveiled in August prior to a home match, and be hung in our Club Bar for the entire 2016/17 season.
The winners in the 'Open' & 'Photography Student' categories will each receive a COMPLIMENTARY SEASON TICKET for next season; whilst the two younger category winners will be presented with a COMPLIMENTARY FAMILY SEASON TICKET for the 2016/17 campaign. The four category winners will also be invited to be Boardroom guests for a match, and the Primary School winner will be offered the opportunity to meet all the players, lead the team onto the pitch and be a Dulwich Hamlet Mascot prior to a home game for a match.
The Second Place in each group will receive FOUR MATCH TICKETS for our first home Ryman League game that is played on a Saturday for the new season; while the Third Placers will get a PAIR OF MATCH TICKETS for the same.
Once the closing date has been reached our panel of judges will select a mix of six photos from each group, to form a 'short list' of finalists...and these will then be published, for a final vote by you...our supporters to choose the winners.
So, to repeat, you can enter as many times as you like. Send your entries via email to
All fans under sixteen must let their parents or guardians know that they are entering before sending in their pictures.
